All in all unbeatable setting not far from a bus stop, the garden, nicely furnished rooms, and the sea where there's a wonderful walking/running. Plenty of options, splendid food.
Beds were very uncomfortable.

The suite was clean, had fantastic showers, brought in a lot of sunlight, and included a minibar.

The room was spotless, provided with a nice sunlight and the garden, as example. The location was great and perfect, for example, Civic Museum "giovanni Fattori" was not too far away from the hotel. The property was a chilled-out base for enjoying a wonderful area.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a lovely building and the room was fine. The location was some distance from the centre (to the extent that there is a centre) although a bus goes direct from in front of the hotel to the centre, near the ferry port and to the stazione for trains.

We needed an early check in and last year were let down on this by another hotel in Livorno (the Max). As advertised the Gennarino welcomed morning arrival. Also they offered real English tea!

Great location, just a stone's throw away from the beautiful waterfront and garden. Loved having a twin room with a coffee/tea setup - super convenient for a morning brew! ☕

Great hotel, the staff were extremely friendly and only too happy to be of help, recommended places to visit and good local restaurants, even reserved the table for us. The room was very big, very clean and very comfortable, very good value for money, we wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

The view of the Port of Genoa was beautiful from our water side room. We saw the ships loading at the docks and by morning all the ships had set sail and the water was serene and quiet. I felt safe in this hotel and it has a quiet atmosphere even though the hotel was quite full. We had a gracious staff member assist us with baggage. Although one needs to look past the truck loading area to see the water, it is a sign of a bustling city at work during the day, but very peaceful at night.
At first check in, the two rooms I reserved back on March 23rd online, with a water view, we were told that we could only have one of the rooms with a water view. After checking, the desk person did find two rooms for us on the same floor facing the water and we were very glad.
